Black Canyon Ascent, May 14th. Dubbed Colorado's Toughest Road Race, the Black Canyon Ascent starts at the turn-off to the Black Canyon National Park, at the intersection of US Highway 50 and Colorado 347, just 6 mileseast of Montrose, Colorado. As you wind your way up to the Black Canyon National Park, you'll take in gorgeous vistas and breathtaking scenery.

Mission to Ride, May 15, 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Join us for a wonderful spring cycling event in Montrose, CO! This is a non-competitive bicycling tour for riders of all abilities. Road and mountain routes are offered.

Main In Motion, June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 - July 7, 14 21, 28 August 4, 11, 18, 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM.  Main Street in Historic Downtown Montrose. Extended store hours and special sales are just a couple of reasons why shopper love this award-winning series of events. Regional artisans and musicians also line Main Street to perform and display their works of art.

Tribute to Western Movies Day, June 18, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Museum of the Mountain West.
There will be presentations by Chris Enss, nonfiction writer of such books as: “Hearts West: True Stories of Mail Order Brides”, and “The Cowboy & the Senorita: A biography of Roy Rogers & Dale Evans” (soon to be a movie with Clint Black) and Dr. Jim Kornberg, non-fiction writer on medical myths of the old west. Panel discussions by celebrities from The Virginian and old western movies, including James Drury and Alex Cord will follow the presentations. Activities on the grounds will include local musicians, food, arts & craft vendors, blacksmithing, flint knapping, silent auction, and much more. Many movie artifacts will be on display. All of the museum exhibits will be open for viewing.

Tribute to Western Movies Day presents country western singer, Lynn Anderson., June 19, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Montrose Pavilion. On Sunday afternoon, June 19th, there will be a concert at the Montrose Pavilion performed by country western singer, Lynn Anderson, of “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden” fame. She has performed for four US Presidents and the Queen of England.
