Step
into a world that runs on its own time. A world where cowboys still
ride the range and Indian rock art adorn the canyon walls; where you
can hear the wind blow, the eagles cry and the coyotes howl.
A forgotten,
one-time mining boomtown; now Mesa County's best-kept secret. In this
remote area, visitors find nature with all her whims and wilds easily
accessible by foot, horseback, mountain bike, river raft or 4x4... and
it is a rock climber's paradise boasting granite walls and sandstone
towers. Gateway is connected via jeep and mountain bike trails to Fruita,
CO and Moab, UT. There is also easy access to the Uncompaghre and Manti-LaSal
National Forests.
