PIKES PEAK - AMERICA'S MOUNTAIN
Over 200 years ago, accomplished western explorer Zebulon Pike first gazed upon the mountain that now bears his name. The mountain and the surrounding region have drawn interest and scores of visitors ever since. The summit can be reached by car on the scenic Pikes Peak Highway, by train on the famous Cog Railway or by foot on the ambitious Barr Trail.

Climb to Conquer Cancer of Colorado Springs, May 19, This is a non-competitive event, where teams of 8 to 15 people participate in a hike through Cheyenne Mountain State Park. Each team has the opportunity to submit their own artwork for the back of their t-shirts (if registered by 4/1/12), and is encouraged to fundraise for the event. Teams form from businesses, clubs, families, friends, hospitals, churches, schools and service organizations

MeadowGrass Music Festival, May 25-27, La Foret Conference and Retreat Center, We’re excited to announce Son Volt as the headliner for the 4th Annual MeadowGrass Music Festival on Memorial Day weekend, featuring three days of national and regional artists performing roots, Americana, bluegrass, indie and blues music. 

Territory Days, May 26-28, 3 day family street festival, celebrating the history of the area. 150,000 attendees expected.

90th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, July 8, 90th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, July 8, Spencer Penrose of Colorado Springs realized early the tourist potential of Pikes Peak near Colorado Springs. In 1915 Penrose finished converting the narrow carriage road to the summit of the 14,110-foot mountain into the Pikes Peak Highway. In order to publicize his adopted hometown and his new road, he devised a simple plan - run an automobile race to the summit of Pikes Peak on the new highway. The first Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb was held August 10- 12, 1916.
